Offshore O&M Training

The first training center specializing in offshore wind O&M
About Offshore O&M

Regarding the O&M of offshore wind power generation facilities, there is a distinction between the wind turbine part and the balance of plant (BOP), which includes the foundation, submarine cables, and other parts other than the wind turbine. We have established Horizon Ocean Management, Ltd. jointly with MITSUI & CO., LTD. to handle not only wind turbines but also BOP, and are ready to meet your needs as a receiver of all O&M services for offshore wind power generation in Japan.
We have also established a "training facility specializing in offshore wind power generation" at our Kitakyushu branch to provide various types of training necessary for offshore wind O&M.
What is Offshore O&M?
Unlike onshore wind turbines, the first step in O&M of offshore wind turbines is to approach the offshore wind farm. Because maintenance opportunities are more limited than with onshore wind turbines due to sea and wether conditions, it is important to be well prepared for maintenance. To this end, we hasve established a system to ensure O&M of offshore wind turbines through the installation of training facilities specialized for offshore wind power, the provision of remote monitoring systems, and early on-the-job experience for employees on offshore wind turbines.
Overview of Offshore O&M training Facilities
We have established Kitakyushu Training Center as a traing facilities specialized for offshore wind power generation.
To prevent accidents such as falling overboard or being caught in the water when accessing wind turbines on the ocean by a dedicated vessel called a CTV (Crew Transfer Vessel), the device reproduces the rocking of waves, allowing for safe training of transfers on land.
We can also provide various other types of training, and are available for consultation to customize the content of training to meet your needs.
